One of the most important parts about being an author is contributing to the writing community. Since joining the Utah Valley Writers, my writing has improved beyond amateur status to apprentice. My fellow writers provide invaluable critiques and I have connected with many professional authors, editors, agents, and publishers.
Though UVW was discontinued, I made good friends and participate in a couple of writing groups.
